Like many artists, I try to partake in Inktober every year. Last year, I created my own prompts as I wished to try something different and practice animal anatomy, as quadrupeds were not my strong suit.

The prompts for each day correlated to a particular practice of witchcraft or something associated with witches.

I uploaded the images to my social media pages. I started some of the pieces early to allow myself a buffer in case I needed to take time off, however I still restricted the creation time limit for each piece to a day.

Not only did this art challenge allow me to improve my quadrupedal character drawing skills, but it gained a lot of popularity with followers and clients!

After the challenge ended I created dog themed Christmas Cards and my requests for pet portraits began.

To this day, I believe Pet Portraits are one of my top most requested styles of commissions and I believe I have Canine Coven to thank for that!
